A two-minute-late hair appointment and one simple suggestion to change my part made me realize how many rules I had followed without ever choosing them, and how much of my life had been shaped by people-pleasing and other people's expectations.

I used to end every year measuring what I hadn't accomplished and planning how I would become better. Now I experience winter differently: as a season of stillness, breath alignment, gratitude, and listening before deciding what comes next.

For years, I confused becoming the “best version” of myself with believing I wasn’t already enough. Through breath and stillness, I began discovering another path: releasing people-pleasing, trusting my inner guidance, and listening to what was already within me.
